Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Executive Director of the White Nile Crop Market, Hassan Bab al-Rahma, announced that all preparations and arrangements have been completed for the new crop marketing season at the exchange in the coming days. He pointed out that the market is witnessing large inflows of crops such as peanuts (both shelled and raw) and sesame of all types. He mentioned that the market administration is providing all necessary facilities and procedures, especially regarding fees, to encourage the flow of imports and commercial movement.
Bab al-Rahma stated that the market staff are spread across the sub-markets to facilitate procedures, and he expects a rise in the percentage of incoming crops in the coming days, especially watermelon seeds, senmeka (a type of gum), and gum arabic. He attributed this to the success of the agricultural season, which saw high yields of various crops.
