Minister of Roads: Militia Attacks on Service Facilities Are Targeting Infrastructure
Sudan Events – Reports
The Federal Minister of Roads and Bridges, Salah Hamed Al-Wali, condemned the destructive drone attacks on the Al-Shawak electrical substation.
During his visit to the Gedaref state (on Saturday) to inspect the Gedaref-Nahl-Hawata-Dinder road being implemented by the Olad Hamed Company under the supervision of the Federal Roads and Bridges Authority, the minister pointed out that the militia attacks on service facilities constitute a direct attack on infrastructure and are part of their ongoing war against citizens and the services provided to them, which violates human rights and international law.
The Federal Minister emphasized the ministry’s commitment to completing the road, which is nearing completion, highlighting its economic and social importance as it connects several central and western states of the country with Gedaref and eastern Sudan.
On his part, the acting governor of Gedaref, Major General Mohammed Ahmed Hassan Ahmed, condemned the militia drone attacks targeting the Al-Shawak substation, describing it as part of the militia’s plan to destroy Sudan after their repeated defeats by the brave Sudanese Armed Forces in various military operations.
The governor affirmed that the visit of the Federal Minister of Roads and Bridges will help push forward the road project to its completion. He stressed that the road is of great economic and social value, urging the contracting company to redouble efforts to complete it in a short period.
