Sudanese-Russian Talks Discuss Investment in the Oil Sector

The Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieddin Naeem Mohamed Said, welcomed the Russian delegation led by Shammadnov Viktor, Chairman of the Russian Business Council and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who is visiting Sudan these days. He expressed his happiness about the visit, considering it a continuation of the visit made by the Ministry of Energy and Oil delegation to Russia, which he headed at the end of last year. The delegation held a joint meeting with experts and technicians in the fields of oil exploration, production, and pipelines. The meeting discussed several topics of interest to Russian companies, particularly in oil exploration and production, as well as the maintenance of pipelines.

Several directors from various departments within the ministry and companies attended the meeting. The Minister confirmed that this day marks an important operational and technical discussion about available investment opportunities, emphasizing that this step is crucial for relations with Russia, especially in the oil sector. A memorandum of understanding is expected to be signed by the end of the visit.

For his part, the head of the visiting delegation, Shammadnov Viktor, stated to Sudan News Agency that major Russian companies are keen to explore cooperation opportunities with Sudanese companies. He expressed hope that the visit will achieve its intended objectives, benefiting both countries.
