Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah

On Thursday, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning signed legal contracts with three banks.

This move aims to benefit from the banking services, products, and electronic payment and collection services provided by these banks, enabling the ministry to electronically collect and deposit government service fees and transactions in accordance with international standards for financial and banking services and the policies of the Central Bank of Sudan.

The banks involved in this initiative include Omdurman National Bank, Al Baraka Bank, and the Farmers Bank. Omdurman National Bank was the first to pass the tests for direct integration with the electronic payment and collection system.

Abdullah Ibrahim, the Ministry’s Undersecretary and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for the Electronic Payment Room, explained that this signing is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the national economy through digital transformation. The government is committed to facilitating citizens’ payments for government services and ensuring the timely flow of revenues to the Ministry’s account.
