Bayern Munich Extends Lead With Hard-Fought Victory Over Freiburg
Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich secured a difficult 2-1 win over Freiburg on Saturday, thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Kim Min-jae, solidifying their lead at the top of the table.
Bayern, who now has 48 points and is six points ahead of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, suffered a 3-0 loss to Feyenoord in the Champions League earlier in the week.
The Bavarians started well against Freiburg, with Jamal Musiala hitting the post before Kane opened the scoring with a quick turn and low shot from the edge of the box, marking his 17th league goal this season.
Defender Kim doubled the lead with a near-post header from a corner kick nine minutes into the second half, but Freiburg reduced the deficit in the 68th minute with a header from Matthias Ginter.
