Energy Minister Discusses Cooperation with Indian Ambassador on Oil Sector

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Dr. Mohieddin Naeem, met with the Indian Ambassador to Sudan at his office on Monday to discuss the restoration of cooperation between Sudan and India in the oil sector.

This meeting followed the receipt of an invitation from India to participate in Indian Energy Week, which will be held in New Delhi next February. The Minister confirmed that the Ministry will send a high-level delegation of technical and financial experts. He stated that this visit presents a great opportunity to meet with officials from the Indian Oil and Natural Gas Corporation to discuss potential cooperation between the two countries in the oil sector.

It is worth noting that the Indian company was previously involved in oil exploration and production in Sudan, and India remains one of Sudan’s early partners in the extraction of Sudanese oil, alongside China.
