Seizure of Large Quantities of Copper Smuggling Attempted

The Red Sea State Anti-Smuggling Department successfully foiled attempts to smuggle large quantities of raw copper, plastic bags, playing cards, and mobile phones.
Two vehicles carrying three tons of raw copper were seized on the border strip with a neighboring country. Additionally, a truck loaded with one hundred parcels of plastic bags weighing three tons was intercepted without official documents. Also, 2,335 packs of playing cards (kootchina) were found hidden inside barrels with food supplies, along with 1,700 smuggled mobile phones found inside travel buses without documents.
Major General Salah Ahmed Ibrahim, Acting Director-General of the Customs Authority, praised this achievement, reflecting the vigilance of the anti-smuggling forces. Assistant Director-General for Anti-Smuggling, Major General Yasser Siddiq Mohammed Ahmed, commended the great efforts made by the force in confronting these smuggling attempts.
On his part, Brigadier General Abbas Abdel Qader Dinar, Director of Anti-Smuggling in the Red Sea, confirmed that the forces continue to work around the clock to secure the borders and combat smuggling in all its forms by covering the routes and paths used by smugglers. He confirmed that all necessary legal actions would be taken against the smugglers and the seized goods.
