Sudanese Mineral Resources Company and Civil Defense Discuss Rapid Response to Mining Accidents

The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company held discussions with the General Directorate of Civil Defense on improving response mechanisms for mining-related incidents and developing preventative measures against mining disasters.
The meeting was attended by Lt. Gen. Osman Atta Mustafa, Director of Civil Defense, alongside Sirajuddin Dolman Kabashi, Director of Environment and Safety at the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, and other officials.
Lt. Gen. Mustafa expressed full commitment to collaborating with the company to provide all necessary resources for managing mining-related risks across markets, company sites, and industrial zones.
On his part, Sirajuddin Kabashi stressed the importance of joint efforts to establish a rapid response system for traditional mining accidents and mine collapses, particularly during the rainy season. The meeting underscored the need for inspection visits to mining sites, training programs for miners, and enhanced awareness of fire safety measures.
Kabashi urged workers in the traditional and organized mining sectors to adhere to environmental and safety regulations to protect both people and resources.
