Khartoum Water Authority: Systematic Destruction and Vandalism of Bahri Water Station

The General Director of the Khartoum State Water Authority, Engineer and Consultant Mohammed Ali Al-Ajib, announced that the Bahri Water Station had been subjected to systematic destruction and vandalism, affecting all the devices and equipment at the station. In a press statement today (Saturday), he mentioned that the station is one of the oldest and largest in the state, producing 300,000 cubic meters per day, supplying Bahri Locality, parts of East Nile, and Khartoum. He pointed out that the damage was extensive, affecting electricity transformers, cables, control panels, pumps, laboratory equipment, and tanks. He emphasized that the destruction inflicted on the station constitutes a crime against the state’s citizens. He added that the Authority will send an engineering and technical team to assess the scale of the damage and the severe losses to the station’s infrastructure. He also called for the intervention of the federal government to expedite the rehabilitation and restoration of the station to service.
