Increase in Inflation Rate for January

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for January 2025 recorded an increase, reaching 3,781,686.19 points compared to 3,753,10 points in December 2024, marking a rise of 2,875.74 points, with a monthly change rate of 0.077%.

The general CPI for the food and beverages group in January 2025 was 161,179.17 points, compared to 162,327.20 points in December 2024, showing a decline of 1,148.03 points.

The CPI for consumer goods stood at 378,186.19 points in January 2025, up from 154,276.32 points in January 2024, an increase of 223,909.87 points, reflecting an annual inflation rate of 145.14%. This means that the general price level in January 2025 rose by 145.14% compared to the same period in the previous year. The price change rate for the food and beverages group increased by 139.46% compared to the previous year.

In urban areas, the CPI reached 266,629.35 points, compared to 118,890.83 points in January 2024, marking an increase of 147,738.52 points and an annual inflation rate of 124.26%, meaning prices rose by the same percentage compared to the previous year.

In rural areas, the CPI was 495,390.90 points in January 2025, compared to 190,781.48 points in January 2024, reflecting an increase of 304,609.42 points, with an annual inflation rate of 159.66%, indicating a rise over the previous year.
