Kremlin: Russia and the U.S. Now Focused on Peace, Not War

Sudan Events – Agencies

The Kremlin stated on Sunday that the significance of the phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump lies in the fact that Moscow and Washington will now discuss peace instead of war.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalist Pavel Zarubin in a video clip on Sunday:
“This is a strong signal that we will now try to resolve issues through dialogue. Now, we will talk about peace, not war.”

Peskov added that the first meeting between Putin and Trump would be particularly important given the current circumstances. He also noted that Western sanctions would not hinder talks between Russia and the U.S., as they could “be lifted as quickly as they were imposed.”
