Sudan Events – Reports
A commander in the Sudanese Armed Forces confirmed the army’s strict commitment to the ethics of war and the rules of engagement.
Speaking to his soldiers in a video published on the official Armed Forces page, the military commander emphasized that prisoners must be treated with dignity. He stressed that morality does not collapse on the battlefield, unlike the Rapid Support Forces militia, which has committed horrific massacres, violated sanctities, and perpetrated the worst crimes, including the rape and enslavement of women, the torture of prisoners, and the cold-blooded killing of civilians.
He added, “The Sudanese Armed Forces remain a disciplined institution committed to principles in accordance with its combat doctrine and international laws. It is certainly easy to be drawn into the brutality of militias, but as the commander emphasized, this battle is not just about fighting on the ground; it is a battle of faith, values, and morals dedicated to protecting civilians.”
