AFC Champions League 2: Sanfrecce Hiroshima Advances to Quarterfinals

Japanese club Sanfrecce Hiroshima has secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League 2 after a commanding 4-0 victory over Vietnam’s Nam Dinh on Wednesday at Hiroshima City Stadium in the Round of 16 second leg.

Goals from Sho Sasaki in the 10th minute, Sota Nakamura in the 54th and stoppage-time minutes, and Shuto Nakano in the 66th sealed the win for Hiroshima.

The first leg had ended in a 3-0 victory for Sanfrecce Hiroshima last Wednesday at Nam Dinh’s Thien Truong Stadium, giving the Japanese side a dominant 7-0 aggregate win.

In the quarterfinals, Sanfrecce Hiroshima will face the winner of the match between Singapore’s Lion City Sailors and Thailand’s Muangthong United, who play their second leg on Thursday in Singapore. Lion City won the first leg 3-2.
