The United Nations has warned of serious regional repercussions from the ongoing war in Sudan, which has been raging since mid-April 2023, pushing neighboring countries to the brink of instability.
UN Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher described the crisis as “unprecedented in its scale and severity.”
He emphasized that the consequences of the 22-month-long war in Sudan extend far beyond its borders, threatening not only the country itself but the entire region.
