Approval of the Standards and Conformity Assessment Law

The technical committees of ministerial sectors in the Council of Ministers approved the Standards and Conformity Assessment Law for 2025, along with the Legal Metrology Regulation Law for 2025.
This approval came during their meeting on Thursday at the Presidential Hall in the Ministry Complex in Port Sudan, chaired by Moaz Abdullah Bilal, Undersecretary of the Federal Governance Ministry.
The Director General of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Authority, Rahba Saeed Abdullah, stated in a press release that the authority serves as the first line of defense in protecting the country. She emphasized that the authority aims to play an active role in rebuilding efforts.
The meeting praised the proposed laws and the authority’s role in ensuring product quality and safety. It highlighted the authority’s responsibility for the quality of imported products to protect human health and the environment while aligning Sudanese products with international standards and regulations.
