Senegalese President: We Will Continue Our Efforts to Help End the War in Sudan

Ambassador Abdelghani Al-Naim Awad Al-Karim presented his credentials to Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye at the presidential palace, officially assuming his role as Sudan’s Ambassador to Senegal.

The ambassador conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, to President Faye, the Senegalese government, and the people of Senegal. He reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and exchanging expertise in all fields. The ambassador also expressed Sudan’s gratitude for Senegal’s continued solidarity and support in regional and international forums.

President Faye welcomed Ambassador Al-Naim, reaffirming Senegal’s solidarity and cooperation with Sudan’s government and people in overcoming the current crisis and enhancing bilateral relations. He assured the ambassador of Senegal’s full support in advancing the ties between the two nations. He also emphasized the historical and cultural bonds between the two countries and recalled his meetings with Sudan’s leadership. Additionally, he reiterated his commitment to assisting in efforts to end the war and achieve peace, highlighting his ongoing engagement with regional and international organizations to encourage a constructive role in securing peace in Sudan so that the country can fulfill its people’s aspirations and continue its leadership role in Africa.
