Sudan Events – Reports

Sudan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna, Ambassador Magdi Ahmed Mofadal, called on the international community to take firm action against the grave crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) rebels and their violations of international and humanitarian law.

He urged increased pressure on the RSF’s regional supporters, enhanced humanitarian aid, support for the upcoming agricultural season, and greater diplomatic engagement to assist Sudan in recovery, reconstruction, and debt relief.

Ambassador Mofadal briefed diplomatic missions in Vienna on recent developments in Sudan, highlighting the significant progress made by the Sudanese Armed Forces in the states of Sennar, Al-Jazira, Khartoum, and North Kordofan. He also noted that the U.S. State Department has confirmed that the RSF committed acts of genocide.

Additionally, he emphasized the ongoing siege of El Fasher, atrocities committed against displaced persons, attacks on civilian infrastructure, and mass killings, including the recent massacre in the outskirts of Al-Qutaynah, which claimed the lives of over 433 civilians.
