Agreement to Reactivate the Network Link Between Customs and the Taxation Bureau

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, emphasized the importance of reactivating the network link between the General Directorate of Customs and the Taxation Bureau in alignment with the country’s digital transformation initiatives. This reactivation aims to achieve maximum cooperation and coordination, which would contribute to increasing public revenues to meet the challenges in mobilizing domestic resources for priority spending.
During a meeting with the revenue units, attended by Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, the Minister pointed out the significance of continuing the success achieved by the units in the previous year and increasing the chances of success in the current year to enhance the economy’s capabilities and meet the requirements of the stage.
An agreement was reached between the General Directorate of Customs and the Taxation Bureau to form a joint technical team to reactivate the previous network link between them. Additionally, it was agreed to establish a unified window at the Customs facilities in Dongola and Merowe to coordinate and integrate the work of the two units and facilitate customer procedures.
The meeting was attended by the Director-General of Customs, the Secretary-General of the Taxation Bureau, the Director of the National Revenue Administration, and the Director of the Ministry’s Information Technology Department.
