Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Governor of Darfur, Minni Arko Minawi, stated that approximately 300 combat vehicles entered Darfur from Libya within two weeks.
He confirmed, according to the Sudan News website, the presence of another batch currently at the Libyan-Sudanese-Chadian border inside Chadian territory, with part of it already entering Darfur, while the rest is preparing to move towards Sudan.
Minawi added that Sudanese authorities have also detected combat vehicles supporting the RSF coming through the Adré crossing.
He revealed that Nyala Airport’s runways are regularly used to transport equipment to the rebels, while the runway at Hamra Sheikh, along with runways in the Central African Republic and South Sudan, are used to transport Sudan’s exported goods, such as gold, sheep, sesame, and gum arabic. He described this operation as sabotage to the economy and an attempt to collapse the Sudanese state.
Minawi further stated that the actions of the countries supporting the RSF aim to destroy the Sudanese state, undermine its sovereignty, and constitute clear violations of international law.
