Opening of the Early Warning Center in Port Sudan

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting specialized plans and strategies. During the opening of the Multi-Risk Early Warning Center at the Civil Defense Forces headquarters in Port Sudan on Saturday, Jibril announced the government’s cooperation with international and regional organizations to reduce disaster risks.

The inauguration was attended by the Ministers of Interior, Health, Irrigation and Water Resources, the Governor of the Red Sea State, the Director-General of the Police Forces, the Director of Civil Defense, and the Italian Ambassador to Sudan.

The goal of the Early Warning Center is to enhance the capabilities of national civil protection agencies in addressing various types of disasters and minimizing their impact. This project is the result of a joint collaboration between the National Civil Defense Council and the Italian government, represented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
