The head of the Sudanese Congress Party, Omar Al-Dagir, revealed that both internal and external entities are pushing groups to form a parallel government and “sharpen the knife of division.”
In a message regarding the consequences of forming a parallel government, Dagir warned against dismissing the events surrounding the launch of the project in Nairobi with indifference or ridicule.
He stated: “It would be a grave mistake to underestimate the dangers of having two governments in a country that has suffered from a national integration crisis since independence due to the lack of consensus on a national project capable of managing diversity, achieving balanced development, ensuring justice, and protecting public and individual freedoms and rights. Instead, state oppression has been used against those demanding these legitimate rights.”
