Médecins Sans Frontières Suspends Operations in Zamzam Camp

Sudan Events – Reports

Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) announced that it has been forced to suspend its operations in Zamzam displacement camp in North Darfur due to escalating attacks and fighting within and around the camp.

In a statement, the organization said: “Despite widespread famine and immense humanitarian needs, we have no choice but to suspend all our activities in the camp, including our field hospital.”

It added that its teams treated 139 patients with gunshot wounds and shrapnel injuries at the field hospital this month amid clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
