The Civil Democratic Alliance (Sumoud) has declared its rejection of the proposal to form a parallel government.
In a statement on Monday, the alliance’s general secretariat warned against underestimating the consequences of signing the “Founding Charter” by factions supporting the RSF militia.
The statement reiterated that the top priority must be ending the war, as its continuation would only deepen the humanitarian catastrophe for the Sudanese people and create an environment conducive to the country’s fragmentation.
The alliance affirmed that it will continue to engage with democratic civil forces as well as regional and international partners to initiate a unified peace process with multiple, simultaneous, and complementary tracks to achieve a ceasefire agreement.
