Lebanese Government Gains Parliamentary Confidence

Lebanon’s new government, led by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, received the confidence of the Parliament on Wednesday with 95 votes in favor out of 128.

The Lebanese News Agency reported that Salam’s government received the confidence in the legislative assembly, with 95 votes in favor, 12 against, and 4 abstentions.

After gaining the Parliament’s confidence, Salam stated that the withdrawal of Israel from Lebanon to the international borders is a top priority for his government, and that it will not accept the exchange of aid for reconstruction or any political conditions.
