Stuttgart Coach Urges His Players to Show Courage Against Bayern

Sebastian Hoeneß, the head coach of Stuttgart, urged his players to play with courage and efficiency against Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga leaders, on Friday, stressing that he is not affected by speculation about his future at the club.

Reports have suggested that German team RB Leipzig is considering Hoeneß as a potential successor to their current coach, Marco Rose, whose future is uncertain despite his contract running until 2026.

German sports magazine Kicker reported that Hoeneß could leave Stuttgart for €8.4 million to join any club participating in a continental competition.

Hoeneß responded to recent speculation, saying, “I can only laugh” about the rumors, adding, “I don’t feel obligated to comment every time things seem to have developed again.”

The Stuttgart coach confirmed that he is in “constant communication” with the club’s leadership, as he is contracted to the team until 2027.

Hoeneß led Stuttgart to second place in the Bundesliga last season, and they are currently in seventh place, fighting to secure a spot in the top four of the league, which qualifies for the Champions League next season.

Stuttgart has recently struggled with poor results, earning only four points from their last five league matches, before hosting Bayern, who lead the standings with an 8-point gap ahead of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen (the defending champions).

Hoeneß stated, “We have to be effective overall, especially on Friday.”

He concluded by saying, “We need to perform at the highest level and stay focused for 90 minutes. We want to show enthusiasm and courage against Bayern and play a really good match.”
