Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Umma Party, led by Mubarak Al-Fadil Al-Mahdi, announced its rejection of the parallel government, describing it as an attempt to prolong the war and expand its scope.
The party said in a statement that the parallel government adopts separatist visions after the militia’s failure to seize power, moving towards forming their own state, which is clearly evident in the self-determination clause outlined in the Nairobi Charter.
It added that the Rapid Support Militia has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity and has carried out widespread violations. Anyone who signed the charter is considered complicit in these crimes.
The statement emphasized that the only way to end the suffering of Sudanese people and confront the dangers of division is to end this war and hold a comprehensive national reconciliation for Sudanese components through Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, civil transformation, and a civil-military agreement to unite the internal front against internal and external conspiracies seeking to fragment the country.
