Jibril: The Cleansing of Khartoum Has Regional and International Implications

On Saturday, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Justice and Equality Movement, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, accompanied by Khartoum State Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza, visited the headquarters of the Wadi Seidna Military Area. They were received by the Commander of Air Defense, Lieutenant General Abdelkhair Abdallah Nasser, along with several senior officials from the area.

Jibril received a briefing on the progress of battles across various fronts aimed at defeating the enemy within the Wadi Seidna Military Area’s jurisdiction. The briefing also covered the current situation, highlighting the enemy’s retreat and the readiness of the forces to cleanse the remaining parts of Greater Omdurman.

The Governor of Khartoum praised Jibril and his movement for their role in the “Battle of Dignity” across multiple fronts. He commended the leadership of the Wadi Seidna Military Area for conducting the battle with the expertise and strategic acumen of the Sudanese army, leading to significant victories.

For his part, Jibril Ibrahim stated that the primary challenge ahead is completing the cleansing of Khartoum, emphasizing that as the capital of the country, it holds symbolic significance both locally and internationally. He asserted that with the restoration of government institutions and the return of civilians to the city, the Janjaweed would have no choice but to surrender or face death.

As part of his visit, Jibril, accompanied by the Governor of Khartoum, also toured the Sudanese Bank branch in Omdurman. He was briefed on the process of receiving currency and the preparations for the next phase of handling financial transactions in Khartoum State.

Additionally, the Minister of Finance and the Governor of Khartoum visited the Sarkab military units, where they were received by the Deputy Director-General of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Mohammed Abbas Al-Labeeb, along with the Commander of the Wadi Seidna Military Area and other senior officers.

Lieutenant General Al-Labeeb praised the participation of the Justice and Equality Movement forces in the Omdurman operations, acknowledging the sacrifices made in terms of wounded and fallen soldiers. Jibril also addressed his movement’s forces, affirming their readiness to take part in the final stages of the battle.
