Military sources and eyewitnesses reported that large military reinforcements from the army and the joint force of armed movements have arrived in the city of Malha, located 210 kilometers northeast of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur. The reinforcements came from the city of Debe, in the northern state, where large gatherings of Rapid Support Forces were spotted in the areas of Sayah, Madu, Mo, and Meilat, indicating rising tensions in the region.
Verified videos from “Darfur24” show the arrival of four-wheel-drive combat vehicles loaded with soldiers from the joint force to the eastern side of Malha. These images reflect the scale of the ongoing military movements and highlight the increasing military preparations in response to the security challenges facing the region.
An eyewitness from the city of Malha, who chose to be named “Ibrahim,” stated that these military reinforcements are aimed at lifting the siege imposed on the city of El Fasher by the Rapid Support Forces since last May. He confirmed that the military presence in the city is becoming more evident, with new reinforcements and widespread deployment of forces in Jebel Isa, north of Malha, reflecting a state of military alert in the area.
A military source from the army, who requested anonymity, informed “Darfur24” that military forces have arrived in Darfur, having been sent by the army to lift the siege on El Fasher and advance toward other cities in the region. This step is part of the army’s efforts to enhance its military presence in the region and improve the security situation.
The source explained that these forces, which arrived last week, were fully equipped with military gear and were headed to El Fasher as well as other areas in the region, with a particular focus on El Fasher. These reinforcements arrive at a critical time as the army seeks to regain control of areas affected by the conflict.
In related news, eyewitnesses in the city of Meilat, located 65 kilometers north of El Fasher, reported an increase in the reinforcement of Rapid Support Forces in the city, with snipers deployed in the surrounding eastern and southern mountains. One of the witnesses, who preferred to remain anonymous, mentioned that the Rapid Support Forces sent new reinforcements of more than 60 four-wheel-drive combat vehicles, while the Starlink devices continue to be banned, and movement of the population in the city is restricted.
Witnesses in the areas of Madu and Sayah reported that the Rapid Support Forces have completed their preparations to counter any advance from the army and the joint forces of the armed movements toward the city of Meilat on their way to El Fasher. The forces have also spread in the surrounding mountains, setting up several camps as military points and preventing the movement of civilians in those areas.
A source from the Rapid Support Forces told “Darfur24” that the information available to them indicates that the army, supported by the joint force, intends to attack the city of Koma to reach El Fasher, due to the large presence of Rapid Support Forces in the areas of Sayah and the desert of North Darfur.
He added that the Rapid Support Forces have sent reinforcements from Nyala, El Fasher, and Kabkabiya to the desert of Zark, Meilat, and Kamtim in anticipation of any potential attack.
In January, fierce battles occurred in the areas of Halaf, Digrashi, Madu, Mo, and Sayah in the desert of North Darfur between the joint force of the armed movements and the Rapid Support Forces.
