Mining Companies Send Convoy to Support the Army

Mining companies operating in Port Sudan launched a support convoy to back the armed forces in the Battle of Dignity, under the supervision of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company and with the presence of representatives from the Sovereign Council.
Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed Al-Fatih, Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Chairman of the Sovereign Council, praised the initiative of the mining companies and their support for the armed forces, noting that their contribution is significant to the fighters in the operation areas. He also mentioned that the mining sector is a key contributor to the Ministry of Finance and the national treasury, playing an essential role in the country’s challenging circumstances.
For his part, the CEO of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Mohamed Taher Omar, expressed his happiness at hosting the initiative of the mining companies to support the armed forces. He stated that mining companies have made significant contributions to supporting the national economy and helping citizens during natural disasters. He highlighted the support provided by the companies to victims of floods and the previous rainy season, and revealed substantial efforts to increase production and maximize revenues in 2025 to face the country’s challenges. Mohamed Taher affirmed that the mining sector is capable of rebuilding what the war has destroyed and announced his commitment to supporting the armed forces alongside the companies. He thanked the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for accepting the initiative.
In this context, the spokesman for the mining companies, Muttasim Haj Tumm, explained that 40 companies are participating in the initiative. He emphasized that mining companies play a significant role in supporting the national economy and will be a strong support for the armed forces. He also mentioned that the corporate social responsibility projects provided by the companies will remain an ethical commitment to the communities hosting mining industries and activities. He pledged that the contributions to support the armed forces will continue.
