Sudan: We Have More Escalatory Steps Against Kenya

Sudan Events – Agencies

Sudanese Foreign Minister Dr. Ali Yusuf has revealed additional measures the government will take against the Kenyan government beyond withdrawing its ambassador.

He stated that the next step would be to ban Kenyan aircraft from flying through Sudanese airspace, in addition to halting the import of tea, for which Sudan is the second-largest importer. He considered Kenya’s retreat from its diplomatic commitments to be the result of pressure and possibly bribes from countries supporting the militia, hinting that the UAE is behind mobilizing these pro-militia states.

In an interview broadcast by the British “BBC” channel, Yusuf confirmed that the army has regained control of 80% of the territories previously held by the militia. He noted that the next phase after fully liberating the capital is to clear the Darfur states. The minister assured that victory is very near and that the militia must surrender.

Regarding the agreement with Russia on the Red Sea, the foreign minister stated that it is an old agreement concerning a service facility for Russian ships. He pointed out that the agreement must be ratified by an elected parliament, describing Sudanese-Russian relations as good.
