Sudan Events – Monitoring

Air defense systems repelled a drone attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), targeting the headquarters of the 19th Infantry Division in Merowe and the Merowe Dam.

The Public Relations and Media Department of the Sudanese Electricity Company revealed that the Merowe Transformer Station was struck by drones early Tuesday morning, damaging the transformer supplying Northern State.

“This repeated targeting of power stations negatively impacts citizens’ services, especially during the holy month of Ramadan,” the department stated.

The company assured citizens that the Civil Defense team is making every effort on-site to control the fire and minimize losses.

Additionally, a technical team of engineers, technicians, and workers is at the scene to assess the damage, conduct repairs, and restore power to affected areas as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the 19th Infantry Division reassured residents of Northern State and Merowe that the Sudanese Armed Forces are fully prepared and on high alert to deal with any threats or unidentified objects in the skies over Merowe and the entire region.
