Ukrainian Prime Minister: Ready to Sign a Mineral Agreement with Washington “At Any Time”

Ukraine confirmed on Tuesday its readiness to sign an agreement with the United States “at any time” to extract strategically important minerals, following Washington’s decision to freeze military aid.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at a press conference: “We are ready to begin this cooperation with the United States at any time by signing an agreement of this kind.” He added that U.S. security guarantees are of “existential importance” for both Ukraine and Europe.
He continued: “We must ask for tangible security guarantees from the United States, Europe, and the G7 countries. This matter is of existential importance not only for Ukraine, but also for the European Union and the European continent.”
