The Hajj Yousif Resistance Committee has urged citizens to inspect abandoned buildings and tightly sealed structures, which are suspected to be secret detention centers run by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in neighborhoods of East Nile recently reclaimed by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).
In a statement, the resistance committees reported that citizens discovered several detainees in an abandoned building that had been under militia control in East Nile.
The committee stated that these abandoned buildings could be secret detention sites where individuals are shackled, as has been the militia’s practice. It further noted that the RSF has allegedly kidnapped hundreds of civilians, who are believed to have been left in these locations.
The committee called on residents of East Nile to form search teams to inspect abandoned buildings. It emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that efforts must be made to locate detainees, as those who have been abducted are likely held in secret detention centers and are unable to move.
