This One…!!

By Al-Taher Sati

From Ibn Al-Jawzi’s The Book of the Fools, it is told that an Arab man urinated in the Zamzam well in front of the pilgrims, and they fell upon him, beating and cursing him. They then asked him for the reason, and he said, “So that people will recognize me and say, ‘This is the one who urinated in the Zamzam well.'”

Yasir Arman might do something like the Arab to remain remembered in life. And without even trying to imitate the Arab by urinating in the Zamzam well, Arman—just to become a trend—might even commit suicide…!!

Yesterday, after a long absence, Arman’s name appeared in a report claiming that Kenyan authorities had detained him at Nairobi Airport based on an arrest warrant issued by Sudanese authorities through Interpol. He was then released after a few hours…!!

The first observation is that Arman was the one who spread the news of his arrest, release, and his going to the hotel, which is unusual. The usual thing is for Kenyan media or Reuters to report on the moment of the arrest at the airport, then publish it…!!

The second observation: Arman mentioned that his detention occurred at 1 PM and he was released at 9 PM… (9 hours). This is more than enough time for a media outlet to report the incident, yet he published it himself…!!

The third observation: Catherine Hurled, the Washington Post’s East Africa bureau chief, tweeted the following: “A source in Interpol confirms no Red Notice was issued against Sudanese political activist Yasir Arman.”

The fourth observation: All the Janjaweed militia members who were the subject of Interpol arrest warrants were in Nairobi to form Dagalo’s democratic government, so why was Arman the only one detained? Did they take him as a sample to examine and analyze?

Thus, all the facts suggest that Arman has not abandoned his habit of being the focus of the event, rather than his ideas and actions. Politicians create events that affect people’s lives, but Arman enjoys having people point to him: “This is the one who was arrested,” just like the one who urinated…!!

The important thing is, if I were in charge of the Sudanese government, I would not waste time and money chasing or arresting Arman, even if he lived next door to Kober Prison. It is better for the government, the people, and the country that Arman remains free…!!

The point is, no ship led by Arman in this country has sailed anywhere but to the bottom; and no one aboard has survived. The passengers drown, and Arman exits unharmed. Follow the path of the man skilled in sinking ships with everyone on them…!!

He sank the SPLM-N ship with his foolishness, extremism, and dictatorship, scattering the likes of Al-Hilu, Agar, and Jalab. Then he joined Agar’s wing and almost sank Agar’s ship, had they not expelled him quickly…!!

Then he joined Hamdok’s government as an advisor, and before his monthly salary was paid, that government collapsed. Hamdok resigned and left the country—along with all its burdens—to Arman, the activists, and the soldiers…!!

He then joined the Rapid Support Forces as an advisor to Hemeti and Abdul Rahim. He succeeded in influencing them to turn a stable military unit, part of the army, into a rebellious militia… which is now burning with all its equipment, weapons, and scoundrels…!!

And as is typical of him, after sinking others, Arman jumped from the burning militia ship to lead the Taqaddum ship, taking advantage of Hamdok’s weakness. He left it after he had driven it to the state that the Titanic reached…!!

A man with such a destructive force directed at rebels, opponents, and collaborators—why would the government pursue and arrest him? On the contrary, the government should allocate a budget for Arman to tear apart the rebel militias and their political supporters into shreds…!!
