But This Time…!!

By Al-Tahir Sati
:: The U.S. Embassy in Juba urges its citizens to leave South Sudan, as the White Army takes control of Nasir after killing the commander of the South Sudan Defense Forces in the city, Major General Magor Dak. The specter of full-scale war looms over South Sudan…!!
:: If war erupts in the South, we will inevitably be affected negatively, and that should be our primary concern. Their internal conflicts are their own affair, but protecting our country from the consequences of their war is ours. We must prepare for the expected influx of weapons and refugees…!!
:: You may recall that just a month ago, after extensive shuttle diplomacy, our government successfully brokered a peace agreement between the South Sudanese government and one of the most significant rebel factions—Kit Gwang…!!
:: The initiative for mediation between Salva Kiir’s government and this rebel faction—which ultimately led to success—came from the General Intelligence Service, under the leadership of Major General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal. The agreement was reached quietly, without fanfare or self-praise…!!
:: However, regrettably, while Mufaddal was working between Salva Kiir’s government and the rebels, Abdel Rahim Dagalo, Yasir Arman, and Taban Deng were implementing pre-war agreements—namely, supplying the Dagalo militia with South Sudanese mercenaries…!!
:: Yes, the South Sudanese mercenaries fighting with the Janjaweed militia did not join randomly. They were recruited and brought in under an agreement between Dagalo, Deng, and Arman. These mercenaries were then assigned to tank, artillery, and rocket launcher units…!!
:: There were 8,000 mercenaries, most of them from the Nuer tribe. Many were part of the tank crews that have been attacking the General Command, the armored corps, and engineering units—where large numbers of them were annihilated…!!
:: Those bombing homes, markets, hospitals, and other civilian areas with Dagalo’s artillery are none other than Taban Deng’s mercenaries. Fortunately, they have been killed, captured, or have fled. Only a small, besieged group remains in Khartoum…!!
:: The South Sudanese government is fully aware of all this—it has even received documented reports. However, it is too weak to protect itself, let alone secure its borders or prevent Taban and other mercenary brokers from continuing their business…!!
:: After participating in the killing and looting of our people and the destruction of our country through mercenaries, Taban and his associates in South Sudan now celebrate the opening of Madhol Hospital in Aweil, near our border. The UAE built it after Dagalo’s war, just as they did in Chad after the conflict there…!!
:: As you know, Emirati facilities in Umm Jaras and Abéché serve as fronts for supplying the Janjaweed militia with weapons. From these bases, drones are launched for strategic airstrikes on civilians in El Fasher, as confirmed by international reports, including the UN Panel of Experts…!!
:: In any case, we hope the UAE hospitals in South Sudan will genuinely serve the people there and treat their wounded, rather than becoming a cover for arming the Janjaweed. I won’t bother advising the South Sudanese government to watch out for Taban’s crimes, as it is too weak to notice even the whistle of a passing train…!!
:: By the way, South Sudan’s Foreign Minister previously called for UN and African Union intervention in Sudan to protect his country’s mercenaries and collaborators. Perhaps now he should resubmit the request—but this time, to protect South Sudanese civilians from each other in Nasir and beyond…!!
