The Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, met on Sunday in Djibouti with Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, and congratulated him on his election to the position.
The meeting discussed developments in Sudan and ways to activate mechanisms for the country’s reinstatement in the African Union, especially since the circumstances surrounding the suspension of its membership occurred during a different phase than the one Sudan is currently experiencing.
For his part, the Chairperson of the AU Commission expressed the commission’s full readiness to discuss Sudan’s return and its resumption of activities with the relevant institutions within the African Union.
