The Sudanese Revolutionary Awakening Council, led by Musa Hilal, launched a strong attack on former Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok and the upcoming government expected to be announced in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militias.
Spokesperson Ahmed Mohamed Abkar stated in a press release, as reported by Darfur 24, that they reject the secular governance endorsed at the Nairobi Conference.
He reaffirmed the council’s commitment to Islamic law as the primary source of legislation in Sudan and reiterated their opposition to any parallel government.
The council emphasized that the only real and lasting solution to Sudan’s deep-rooted and long-standing problems is a Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue that includes all components of the Sudanese people—political, military, civil, and societal organizations.
The statement also criticized Hamdok’s “Resilience” coalition speech, in which he proposed an initiative to end the war, calling it a blatant interference in Sudan’s sovereignty and an exploitation of the people’s will.
The council dismissed Hamdok’s political maneuvers, saying, “He is still lost in illusions, fantasies, and deceptions that the Sudanese people and time itself have long moved past. The clock will not turn back.”
