The European Union has reaffirmed its commitment to Sudan’s unity, territorial integrity, and the sovereignty of the Sudanese people.
In a statement, the EU spokesperson described the plans of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to establish a parallel government as a threat to the country’s unity and a move that risks dividing Sudan. The EU also warned that such actions undermine the Sudanese people’s democratic aspirations for an inclusive political process that restores civilian rule.
The EU framework for restrictive measures on Sudan specifically targets individuals or entities that obstruct efforts to resume the country’s political transition.
