JICA Plans to Reopen Its Offices in Sudan

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has promised to reopen its offices in Sudan as soon as possible.
Sudan’s Minister of Finance, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, stated on his Facebook page that he, accompanied by Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Bushra, Minister of Agriculture, visited Mr. Naoki Ando, Vice President of JICA, along with Mr. Kubo Ejij, JICA’s Sudan office representative.
He added, “We provided a detailed explanation of the government’s priorities, focusing on the rehabilitation of infrastructure. We clarified that the government has prepared a comprehensive vision for reconstruction and rebuilding, which will be presented to development partners, including JICA, during a workshop organized by the Ministry of Finance.”
For his part, Naoki affirmed JICA’s readiness to participate in rebuilding the damage caused by the war and expressed willingness to consider reopening its offices in Sudan at the earliest opportunity.
