Dr. Abubakr Omar Al-Bushra, the Minister of Agriculture, chaired the first meeting of the Agricultural Sector Reconstruction Committee at the headquarters of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development in Port Sudan. The meeting was attended by Professor Ibrahim Al-Dukhairi, Director-General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, Ibrahim Mustafa, Governor of the Gezira Project, and several other stakeholders.
The meeting discussed plans and strategies for reconstructing what was damaged by the war and mechanisms for redevelopment.
The committee concluded by forming a technical team to immediately start preparing programs and projects for donors and development partners in accordance with the requirements for rebuilding the agricultural sector.
It is worth noting that, as part of efforts to integrate resources and coordinate actions to achieve food security, the Agricultural Sector Reconstruction Committee was established to revitalize agriculture and address the destruction caused by the war.
