Foreign Minister: The Parallel Government Was Stillborn

Sudan Events – Agencies

Sudanese Foreign Minister Ambassador Ali Youssef told Al Jazeera Net that the so-called parallel government was “stillborn” and will have no role to play.

He added that a return to the Jeddah Platform as a negotiation track is possible but not to implement the May 11, 2023, agreement. He emphasized that the course of the war is progressing positively, with the army securing one victory after another and nearing full control of Khartoum.

In an interview with Al Jazeera Mubasher, the minister stated that Sudan’s relationship with Kenya remains tense but that severing ties is not currently under consideration.

He also noted that Egypt has not provided any military support to the Sudanese army, yet it remains the strongest supporter of Sudan and its people.

Additionally, the minister revealed that Sudan has agreed to continue normal diplomatic relations with Iran, acknowledging the challenges associated with this cooperation.
