The Sudanese Foreign Minister, Ali Yusuf Al-Sharif, mourned the parallel government that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and its allied forces intend to form, stating that it is stillborn and will have no role in Sudan’s future.
In an interview with “Al Jazeera Net,” he reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to the unified Arab and Islamic position against the displacement of Palestinians, emphasizing that Sudan does not base its relationship with the U.S. on their expense. This came in response to media leaks mentioning a U.S.-Israeli request to settle Palestinians from Gaza in Sudan.
Al-Sharif also confirmed that Sudan’s relations with Russia would not come at the cost of its relationship with the United States. He explained that Sudan will pursue all directions that serve the interests of the Sudanese people, and attributed the improved positions of the European Union and the United Kingdom to ongoing dialogue with both sides.
