The Sudanese government delegation, led by Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Sulaima Adam Baniyah, began its visit to Europe with a meeting at the French Foreign Ministry.
French official Emmanuel Platman reaffirmed France’s commitment to Sudan and its willingness to provide humanitarian aid, noting the importance of previous conferences despite organizational shortcomings.
Baniyah criticized the exclusion of Sudan’s government from the April 2024 humanitarian conference, describing the participation of groups aligned with the RSF as unjustified.
She reiterated that the conflict in Sudan is between a militia seeking to seize power and the Sudanese people defending their rights. She condemned the EU’s silence on RSF violations, stating that it emboldens further abuses.
Al-Amin stressed the importance of honest dialogue with the EU to clarify the nature of the conflict and praised European diplomatic efforts to engage with Sudan.
