New Directives from the Central Bank

The Central Bank of Sudan issued a new directive to all banks regarding the acceptance of identity cards for opening and managing bank accounts and conducting banking transactions. This measure aims to promote financial inclusion and expand the base of banking clients.
According to the directive, identity cards issued by military and police authorities, as well as judicial entities, have been approved as official documents for banking operations.
The decision also allows the use of identity cards from judicial authorities, public prosecutors, legal advisors, and lawyers for identity verification when opening and managing bank accounts.
The Central Bank stated that this step is part of its ongoing efforts to simplify banking procedures and ensure that a broader segment of citizens and institutions can benefit from banking services.
