Finance: Presentation of the Sustainable Development Goals Report for This Year

Dr. Mohamed Bashar, Deputy Director of Planning at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, affirmed Sudan’s commitment to presenting the third voluntary national report on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 on time during this year, 2025. This report will include the impact of the war on the progress made in achieving the SDGs in the country.
In his speech at the Technical Committee’s consultation workshop on the report, organized by the Ministry of Finance – the Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction Unit at the Ministry Complex today, Dr. Bashar emphasized Sudan’s commitment to following best practices in sustainable development activities and learning from the experiences of countries that have faced war and how they overcame their challenges. He pointed out that consultations on the report will involve stakeholders from secure states and will include models from areas affected by the war.
Dr. Amin Saleh Yes, an economic expert, presented a scientific paper on the third voluntary national report for the SDGs 2025, highlighting its importance and presenting it for consultation through the technical committee, which includes partners in the report preparation from federal units such as ministers, undersecretaries, general secretaries, and directors-general from various ministries and units. The paper covered several topics, including the definition of sustainable development, national and voluntary reports, goals, voluntary reports in the context of conflicts, the voluntary report in Sudan, partners, implementation mechanisms, the timeline, and what has been achieved.
