The Federal Ministry of Health announced the provision of medical equipment and devices to the Eye Hospital in Port Sudan worth 250,000 Euros, as part of its plan to improve eye care services and expand specialized services in the country.
During his visit to the Eye Hospital in Port Sudan on Wednesday, which was accompanied by Red Sea State Governor Major General Mustafa Mohamed Noor, Director-General of the State Health Sector Dr. Ahlam Abdel-Rasoul, and several ministry leaders, Federal Health Minister Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim confirmed that efforts are ongoing to ensure the stability of eye care services across all states of Sudan.
He expressed his ministry’s commitment to providing specialized treatments for eye diseases, highlighting the importance of partnerships in developing this sector.
The minister explained that the ministry had taken significant steps in the field of eye health, including providing the necessary equipment and devices, with an emphasis on strengthening ophthalmology departments in various hospitals.
During the visit, the Accident and Emergency Department at Port Sudan Teaching Hospital, which is currently undergoing rehabilitation, was also inspected.
