Palhinha: “I’m Not Thinking About Leaving Bayern Munich”
João Palhinha, Bayern Munich’s central midfielder, has dismissed rumors about his departure, despite a challenging start with the Bundesliga leaders.
Speaking to Sport Bild on Wednesday, Palhinha said: “The rumors about me leaving don’t concern me. I will do everything to prove why the club invested in me. I’m not thinking about leaving.”
The Portuguese midfielder, who was a sought-after transfer target in 2023, joined Bayern from Fulham last summer for €51 million ($55.7 million) on a contract that runs until 2029.
So far, Palhinha has struggled to secure a regular starting spot, featuring in 12 Bundesliga matches, with only five starts.
His last start ended in disappointment when he received a red card in Bayern’s 3-2 loss to Bochum on March 8.
