The Acting Minister of Interior, Police General Khalil Pasha Sairin, has announced the imminent official declaration of the Sudanese Armed Forces taking control of the Republican Palace, the symbol of state sovereignty, within the coming hours.
During the launch of the Ministry of Interior’s electronic portal on Thursday, Sairin stated, “As we approach the final third of the holy month of Ramadan, we all pray for the armed forces and supporting forces to liberate the remaining areas of Khartoum, Kordofan, and Darfur.”
The Minister added that “the Sudanese people are promised the restoration of the Republican Palace, the symbol of state sovereignty,” noting that although the official statement has not yet been issued by the armed forces, this is a promising development.
Sairin emphasized that launching the electronic portal is a step towards restructuring the Ministry’s website with a new vision that aligns with digital transformation developments and keeps pace with e-government initiatives. He added that the portal aims to provide all necessary information for the Ministry’s units, including the Commission for Refugees, Al-Ribat National University, the National Civil Defense Council, and the Traffic Safety Council.
He also pointed out that challenges facing digital transformation include infrastructure, raising awareness about the transition, and ensuring information security. He affirmed, “The Ministry will continue its efforts to overcome these obstacles.”
