Governor of Al-Jazirah Scheme Meets with Irrigation Management

Engineer Ibrahim Mustafa Ali, Governor of the Al-Jazirah Scheme, commenced his field visits by holding a meeting today with the irrigation management in Wad Madani. The meeting included Consultant Engineer Mufaddal Al-Tayeb, Director General of Irrigation Operations; Dr. Hassan Abu Al-Bishr, Deputy Director of the Technical Authority; and Engineer Ibrahim Al-Khair, Director of Operations for Al-Jazirah and Al-Managil. Also present were Engineer Khalid Al-Tahir, Executive Director; Engineer Ismail Abdul Mohsen, Deputy Agricultural Director for Al-Jazirah; and Engineer Ali Ahmed Ibrahim, Secretary General of the Board of Directors.

The meeting emphasized the necessity of strengthening coordination between the Al-Jazirah Scheme and the irrigation department in light of the destruction of irrigation facilities during the war, highlighting the need to set priorities and address urgent requirements.

Governor Ibrahim Mustafa Ali reaffirmed his commitment to resolving irrigation issues within the framework of the irrigation plan submitted to the Federal Ministry of Finance.

Additionally, the meeting discussed the importance of repairing breaches at multiple locations across Al-Jazirah and Al-Managil, as well as initiating maintenance programs for water regulators in several sectors.

The meeting approved the required equipment to address irrigation problems, which includes over 80 different types of excavation machinery, along with the necessary quantities of fuel.

The Governor of the Al-Jazirah Scheme is scheduled to conduct a field tour next Saturday, covering the northern sections to assess irrigation challenges.
