Khartoum Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza emphasized that the liberation of the Republican Palace and central Khartoum was a decisive battle won by the brave Sudanese Armed Forces, security forces, and mobilized fighters who stood firm in the battle for dignity.
Governor Hamza congratulated the Sudanese people and the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and his deputies on this victory, which he described as a moment of national pride as citizens witnessed their heroes reclaiming the palace from within its halls.
He added that this liberation marks the beginning of efforts to free all areas of Khartoum State from “the modern-day Mongols, mercenaries, and traitors seeking to dismantle the Sudanese state.”
The governor also honored the sacrifices made by the Sudanese people, including the martyrdom of the Othman Makawi Media Center crew and the Sudan TV team on Friday. He emphasized that these losses are part of a long history of sacrifices made by Sudanese citizens to protect their homeland, from the colonial era to the present day.
